TURA BEACH MENS BOWLS REPORT No 405
De-amalgamation Update The Board of Merimbula-Imlay as direction by Members at the recent Half Yearly General Meeting, appointed a Steering Committee to oversee the processes involved in the separation of Tura Beach Country Club from Merimbula-Imlay. The members of the Steering Committee are Bernie Russell, Bill Keith, Gary Kichenside, Kevin Nowland and Terry Jackson.
District Bowls Tura bowlers were involved in three inter District tournaments over the weekend with Russell Cook, Les Firth and Mike Reynolds playing and Rob Pearsall Managing the side, representing the Far South Coast District. In their best results ever the FSCD won all three events.
In another outstanding performance the Tura Ladies have cleaned up the local District Pennant playoffs and will have three grades, 2, 3 and 4 all competing for State Flags.
We congratulate them and wish them good luck in the State matches and hope they can do one better than last year and win three State flags instead of only two.
Club Bowls Seven round 3 matches in the Club Singles have now been completed with the following results, Russell Cook defeated Tony Shaw, Les Firth defeated Ross Orsborn, Ross Davies defeated Barry Rusling, Mike Reynolds defeated David Lewis, Pat Quigley defeated Hans Pynenburg, Ron Henkel defeated Alan Rowlinson and Eric Maddern received a forfeit from Ken Edwards. One match between Graham Burton Steve Davies remains to be played.
Social Bowls Wednesday May12 The Men's Triples were won by Rex Lucas, F Keens and David Manovski with 22 points. A count back for runners up went to Alan Robbins, Ron Henkel and Terry Jackson with 21 points.
Friday May14 The Nominated Pairs went to Bev Whiteside and Les Rizzetti with 2+12 from Hugh Best and David Manovski runners up with 2+5. The single game winners were Barry Rusling and Hans Pynenburg with 1+ 11.
