Pennant Bowls

An extremely busy weekend rounded off the 2010 Pennant season with round 10 being played on Saturday, May 8 and the postponed round 1 matches played on Sunday, May 9.

On Saturday grade 3 defeated Eden 6/0, 73shots to 48, grade 4 defeated Bombala 5/1, 65 shots to 55, grade 5 defeated Eden 3 ½/2 ½ and grade 7 defeated Candelo 4/2, 59shots to 52.

Grade 3, Kel Duncombe, Vic Finlay, Russell Cook and Graham Burton won 21/17. Ross Davies, Lance Lamond, Campbell Connal and Ken Edwards won 28/11. David Lewis, Roger Hayes, Eric Maddern and Mike Reynolds won 24/20.

Grade 4, Ron Henkel, Bill Gilligan, Alan Rowlinson and Terry Jackson lost 16/20. Dennis Vaughan, Rob Pearsall, Peter Wells and Jack Findlay won 26/17. Eric Joslin, Hans Pynenburg, John Jesina and Terry Och won 23/18.

Grade 5, Trevor Mort, Barry Rusling, Steve Davies and Ross Orsborn won 19/10. Tony Sawkins, Tony Shaw, Gary Woods and David Mavovski won 31/21. John Harrod, Don Pope, Joe Bradshaw and Barry Brown lost 21/26.

Grade 7, Alan Buckley, Don Fergusson, John O'Donnell and Bruce Jeffries won 23/11. Arthur Stove, Barry Rayner, Nick Vaughan and Les Rizzetti lost 16/19. Marty Orsborn, Peter Evans, Ron Stevens and Peter Hamer lost 20/22.

On Sunday grade 3 lost to Merimbula 1/5, 49shots to 85, grade 4 defeated Bega 5 ½./ ½., 73 shots to 55, grade 5 had played their round 1 match and grade 7 defeated Tathra 5/1, 63shots to 44.

Grade 3, Kel Duncombe, Vic Finlay, Russell Cook and Graham Burton lost 16/33. Tony Shaw, Lance Lamond, Campbell Connal and Ken Edwards won 19/18. David Lewis, John Jesina, Eric Maddern and Mike Reynolds lost 14/34.

Grade 4, Ron Henkel, Bill Gilligan, Alan Rowlinson and Terry Jackson won 30/23. Dennis Vaughan, Rob Pearsall, Peter Wells and Jack Findlay drew 19/1

District Bowls

The Tura team of Roger Hayes, Campbell Connal, Trevor Govey (ex Tura) and Graham Burton performed well in the Fortune Fours at Merimbula last week finishing second best of the local teams in an extremely high standard field winning 4 of their 6 matches.

Social Bowls

Wednesday May5

The monthly Joe's Special winners were Bill Gee, Barry Phipps and Lance Lamond with 22 points. The count back for runners up went to Tom Scarlett, P McMahon and Joe Bradshaw on 17 points.

Friday May7

The Nominated Pairs went to Pam and Mike Reynolds with 2+26 from Wilma Rusling and Val Edwards runners up. The single game winners were Daphne Nagle and Dorothy Campbell on 1+ 7.
