TURA BEACH MENS BOWLS REPORT No 400

 

Pennant Bowls

Tura hosted two pennant matches this week, grade 4 playing grade5 and grade 7 playing Bega. Only grade 3 had to travel to play Bega at Bega.

 

The results were:-

Grade 3, Tura Beach 6 points 69 shots, defeated Bega 0 points 52 shots. Kel Duncombe, Vic Finlay, Russell Cook and Graham Burton won 24/18. Pat Quigley, Lance Lamond, , Campbell Connal  and Ken Edwards won 23/16. David Lewis, Les Firth, Eric Maddern and Mike Reynolds won 22//18.

 

Grades 4, 5 points 60 shots defeated grade 5,1 points 58 shots, Ron Henkel, Alan Rowlinson, Terry Jackson and Roger Hayes won 33/17   Dennis Vaughan, Rob Pearsall, Peter Wells and Jack Findlay won 18/17, Eric Joslin, Hans Pynenburg, Kevin West, and Terry Och lost 9/24.

In the morning's round one matches Ted Young lost to N Cowling, Tony Sawkins lost to W Sharples, Gary Woods lost to F Dorris, Don Pope lost to M VanViegen, Trevor Mort lost to M Symons and Peter Evans lost to B Britton. On the credit side Ross Orsborn defeated R McNaught and in all Tura matches Ross Davies defeated Tony Shaw, Barry Rusling defeated Ron Henkel, Bill Gilligan defeated Marty Orsborn and Steve Davies and David Manovski received a byes.

 

The afternoon's second round match results were, David Manovski defeated R Lennon 31/27, Barry Rusling defeated J Hobbs 31/29, Ross Orsborn defeated Steve Davies 31/12, Bill Gilligan lost to M Symonds 28/31 and Ross Davies lost to N Cowling 19/31.

Eric Joslin and Lance Lamond are the 2010 Veteran's Pairs winners after defeating C Barber and M Van Viegen in Fridays final at Bega.

In first round match played at Tathra on Saturday 10 Alan Rowlinson and Les Firth recorded wins, Russell Cook and Mike Reynolds were eliminated and Eric Maddern received a bye.

 

Open Singles.

The three Tura starters are through to the second round with Ken Edwards recording a win and Kel Duncombe and Campbell Connal receiving first round byes.

The Nominated Pairs went to Lesley Calman and Frank Lascala with 2+11. Kel Duncombe and Graham Burton were runners up with 2+4 with Carroll Criddle and Jack Findlay the single game winners with 1+ 20.

In the morning's round one matches Ted Young lost to N Cowling, Tony Sawkins lost to W Sharples, Gary Woods lost to F Dorris, Don Pope lost to M VanViegen, Trevor Mort lost to M Symons and Peter Evans lost to B Britton. On the credit side Ross Orsborn defeated R McNaught and in all Tura matches Ross Davies defeated Tony Shaw, Barry Rusling defeated Ron Henkel, Bill Gilligan defeated Marty Orsborn and Steve Davies and David Manovski received a byes.

Tura hosted two pennant matches this week, grade 4 playing grade5 and grade 7 playing Bega. Only grade 3 had to travel to play Bega at Bega.
