TURA BEACH MENS BOWLS REPORT No 396Pennant Bowls Again this week three Tura teams hosted pennant matches with grade 3 playing Merimbula, grade 4 playing Bega and grade 5 playing Bombala. Only grade 7 had to travel playing Tathra at Tathra.

In round 2 results, Bob Hart and Ron Stevens lost to A Chomatek and T Love, Les Rizzetti and David Manovsky lost to D Blewitt and B Cochrane, and Gary Woods and Eric Joslin lost to P Buckley and P McClen.

In the morning's round 2 matches Peter Wells and Mike Reynolds defeated Kel Duncombe and Ken Edwards. And Roger Hayes and Graham Burton defeated Les Firth and Eric Maddern.
The afternoon clash between Peter Wells and Mike Reynolds, and Roger Hayes and Graham Burton was a photo finish with Graham winning the match with his last bowl 24/23 after being down 22/23 after end 20.

The results were:- Grade 3, Tura Beach 1 points 50 shots, lost to Merimbula 5 points 67 shots. Kel Duncombe, Vic Finlay, Russell Cook and Graham Burton won 21/18. District Bowls Veterans Singles Three Tura players contested the quarter finals of the District Veterans Singles played at Eden on Friday, March 19. Roger Hayes lost to R Cock, Ted Young lost to R McNaught and Terry Jackson defeated C Lemon 25/19.
Veterans Pairs In round 2 matches at Bega on Tuesday, March 16, Les Rizzetti and Bill Daniels defeated Trevor Mort and Barry Brown 20/13 in the all Tura match. Eric Joslin and Lance Lamond defeated C Gahleitner and H Reynolds 28/9, and Pat Quigley and Eric Maddern defeated J Hobbs and C Blacka 22/16.
