With the return of fine weather round two of the 2010 pennant series was completed with our grades 3, 5 and 7 playing at home and grade 4 travelling down the hill to Merimbula

Grade 5, Tura Beach 1 point 55 shots lost to Bega 62 shots.  Trevor Mort, Don Pope, Barry Brown and Ross Orsborn won 29/19. Tony Shaw, Ray Heron, Steve Davies and Dave Manovski lost 16/18. Don Fergusson, Peter Hamer, Stewart Rothacker and Neil Clough lost 10/25.

Grade 7, Tura Beach 4 points 67 shots defeated Eden 2 points 54 shots. Gary Woods, Bill Gilligan, John O'Donnell and Bruce Jeffries lost 15/19. Ross Davies, Bob Hart, Ron Stevens and Les Rizzetti won 33/13. Alan Buckley, Kevin Cox, Joe Bradshaw and Barry Rusling lost 19/22.

Next weeks round 3 matches are, grade 3 play Bega at Tura. Grades 4 and 5 clash at Tura. And Grade 7 play Bega at Bega.

District Bowls

Tura Beach are the host club for the 2010 District Triples and as expected have the largest number of teams competing, fielding 11 of the 28 entries.

In first round matches Neil Clough's team lost 17/24, Lance Lamond's team won 26/10, Jack Findlay's team won 23/19, Peter Evans's team lost 24/28, Pat Quigley's team lost 24/28, Graham Burton's team won 24/15, Eric Maddern's team won 38/10 and in an all Tura match Bruce Jeffries's team defeated Ross Orsborn's team 26/22. Roger Hayes's and Campbell Connal's teams received first round byes.

Rounds 2 and 3 will be played on Saturday, February 27.

Club Bowls

The long held over semi final of the Club Veteran Singles went to David Lewis defeating Roger Hayes. The final between David and Eric Maddern is set down for Thursday, February 25.

This months IGA day went to Bob Hart, Stewart Rothacker and Ron Stevens on 2+9 from Don Pope, Bill Daniels and Pat Quigley runners up on 2+8. The single game winners were Kel Duncombe, Eric Maddern and Gerd Jacobsen with 1+7.
