TURA BEACH MENS BOWLS REPORT No 390

 

Pennant Bowls

Round one of the 2010 pennant series was postponed due to the much welcomed rain.

The draw for the season will stay as is, starting one week late to commence with round next Sunday, February14.

 

Tura team's matches are Grade 3 away to Merimbula, Grade 4 away to Bega, Grade 5 away to Bombala and Grade 7 hosting Tathra.

 

Club Bowls

Two round three matches in the Veterans Singles were played on Thursday, February 4 resulting in David Lewis recording a win over Don Fergusson after Don conceded with David leading 18/5 with rain falling. The other match went to Jack Findlay who defeated Bill Daniels 25/10.

 

District Bowls

 

The third round and quarter finals of the District Fours at Tathra set down for Saturday, February 6 were postponed due to the weather.

 

The weather also interrupted the Tathra Pairs that were played over Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday last week. Again Tura were extremely well represented with seven teams. Of which, Graham Burton and Ken Edwards were the best placed finishing in fourth place.

Social Bowls

Wednesday February 3

The monthly "Joe's Special" went to Hue Best, Eric Joslin and Ron Stevens with 19 points. Runners up on count back with 18 points were G Gurney, Ross Davies and Lance Lamond.
