Tura Beach / Merimbula Challenge Shield 

Hosting this event for the first time gave Tura Beach the chance to repay the hospitality shown to us by our sister club for some years. Also to thank the donators of the shield

 Noel Morley and Ian Stroud for their foresight in providing the trophy that gives both clubs a chance for their  pennant sides to have a hit out prior to the 2010 season.

In a very close series of matches Merimbula prevailed winning the day 223 shots to 211.

Pennant Practice

With the 2010 pennant season commencing on Sunday, February 7 a series of practice matches, the details of which will be displayed on the board will be arranging . If you are not available for any of these matches please inform the Match Committee. 

Next Sunday, January 24 Pat Quigley will conduct a “Bowling Skills” coaching session commencing at 1.00.   

Club Bowls

Entries for the Club Veterans Singles have closed and the draw is on the board for the first round on Thursday, January 21. The District Fours entries have closed and a sheet for the District Triples closing Sunday, February 7 is on the board.

Winners of the men’s fours were F Keens Peter Evans, Alan Rowlinson and Mike Reynolds with 24 points.  Marty Orsborn, Adrian Blyth, Ron Henkel and Ron Steven were runners up with 23 points.

 The Wednesday 20 IGA Day Nominated Triples have been changed to a “Joe’s Special” owing to the reduction to a single green due to maintenance.

Friday January15

The Nominated Pairs went to M Papp and J Weatherstone on 2+ 9. Ross and Jan Jones were runners up with 2+8 and the single game winners on 1+12were Yvonne and Ron Henkel.
