Club Bowls

The second round of the Mixed Pairs, split into morning and afternoon sessions was played on Saturday, November 7 with the morning having the best of the conditions as in the afternoon the wind became very strong and gusty.

Overall, the round provided some very keenly contested matches as the results show.

Jan and Kel Dumcombe 21 defeated Boyd and Dorothy 12. Alan Rowlinson and Shirley Sunderland 20 defeated Joan and John Jesina 19. Pam and Mike Reynolds 25 defeated Ted Young and Carol Hooper 14. Carol and Roger Hayes 17 defeated Pat Crawley and Ross Davies 15. Bev Whiteside and Russell Cook 27 defeated Kevin Cox and Elma Vaughan 10. Jan and Eric Joslin 26 defeated Cheryl and Gary Woods 20 and Mary and Les Firth 22 defeated Val Edwards and Graham Burton 20.

Round 3 of this event is to be played on Saturday, November 14.

In Sunday’s round one matches of the Club Fours Kel Duncombe, Alan Rowlinson, Roger Hayes and Terry Och 24 defeated Peter Tucker, Marty Orsborn, Ted Young and Ross Orsborn 15. Ray Heron, Steve Davies, Hans Pynenburg and Campbell Connal 30 defeated Ross Davies, Bob Hart, Mike Reynolds and Eric Maddern 16, and Terry Brooks, Stuart Walsh, Les Firth and Russell Cook 23 defeated Bob Knight, Kevin Cox, Peter Wells and John Jesina 19.  

The second round is set down for Sunday, November 15.

Social Bowls

Wednesday November 4

The monthly “Joe’s Special” went to Arthur Stove, Don Pope and Terry Jackson with 23 points. Eric Heads, Ross Orsborn and Campbell Connal were runners up on 21 points.

Friday November 6

Ken and Val Edwards were the overall winners with 2+8 on count back from Don Pope and Graham Burton runners up. The single game winners with 1+7 were Tony Sawkins and Gary Telford.
