Club Bowls

Semi finals and final of the Club Triples were decided on Saturday, August 22. The morning semis went to David Lewis, Peter Wells and Jack Findlay over Graeme O’Donnell, Neil Clough and Russell Cook 22/18, and Don Pope, Lance Lamond and Graham Burton over Trevor Mort, Alan Carswell and Barry Brown 31/20.

The afternoon’s final, won by Jacks team was much closer than the winning score of 26/21 indicates. Scores were level 12/12 after end 13, 16/16 after end 17 and 19/19 after end 21 before a four on the next end delivered Jack’s team a comfortable margin with four ends to play.      

The Handicap Singles continued with the last round 2 match, played on Wednesday 19 being won by Hue Smithers (-4) over David Blake (-4) 31/20.

 In round 3 matches played on Thursday, August 20 John Jesina (-10) defeated Gary Woods (-7) 31/14, Russell Cook (-15) defeated Hue Smithers (-4) 32/22, Campbell Conall (-13) defeated Gene Dunn (-7) 31/20,David Lewis (-12) defeated Steve Davies (-9) 31/17, Terry Jackson (-10) defeated Graham Burton (-12) 31/21,Lance Lamond  (-12) defeated Ron Henkel (-7) 31/20 and Pat Quigley (-14) defeated Terry Och (-11) 31/20.

Round one of the Major Minor Pairs are to be played on Saturday, August 29 at 12.30 pm.

Our AGM will be held on Sunday, August 30 starting 10.am so please take the opportunity to attend and let your views on how our Club is performing be known to other members and the Committees. 

Social Bowls

Wednesday August 19

The monthly IGA day went to Les Rizzetti , Bill Francis and Campbell Connal with 2+8. Eric Heads, B and M Heard were runners up on 2+4 with John Snelling, Gerd Jacobsen and Jack Findlay the single game winners on 1+17.
