TURA BEACH MENS BOWLS REPORT No 364 

 

Our 23 winter bowls carnival got off to a flying start on Friday, June 3 with the pre Carnival bowls and barbeque. This event was extremely well attended with Arthur Stove, Boyd Campbell and Barry Brown winning with 24 points from Tracy Sly, Nick Vaughan and Jan Joslin on 23 points. 

 

Tura Beach continued the club’s support in District bowling with four teams playing in the District fours team challenge at Tathra on Saturday, June 4 and a team at the Eden President’s day on Sunday, June 5. 

 

A sheet is on the board for the Carnival Dinner on Thursday, July 16. This promises to be a great night, so organise a table and help end the Carnival on a high note. 

 

On a sad note, a long time member of our Club “Chummy” Parks passed away last week. In his mid nighties, Chummy had not played bowls for some time but had contributed much to our club in his younger years.

Gene Dunn, Nick Vaughan and Graham Burton won the monthly “Joe’s Special with 24 points from runners up Boyd Campbell, Ross Davies and David Lewis on 21 points.
