TURA BEACH MENS BOWLS REPORT No 358 Zone Bowls Our grade 5 side performed extremely well at Dalmeny in the Zone playoffs over last weekend winning 2 of their 3 matches. The Saturday afternoon match against Cooma resulted in a 58 shots to 51 win, Roger Hayes’s team 19/18, Terry Och’s team 21/13 and Jack Findlay’s team 18/20. The Sunday morning match against Culburra went to Tura 63 shots to 51. Roger Hayes’s team 22/18, Terry Och’s team 23/12 and Jack Findlay’s team 18/21. With the two game winners, Tura and Tomakin clashing in the afternoon third match the stage was set for a great finish. Despite a strong performance by Jack’s team Tomakin proved too good winning 58/46. Roger Hayes’s team 17/22, Terry Och’s team 7/24 and Jack Findlay’s team 22/12. Tomakin are a strong side, their grade 5 being the highest grade in the club and we wish them good luck in the State playoffs at Ettalong. Again the support for the side by our club members was outstanding, with thirty or so making the trip to Dalmeny. This show of club sprite was a lift to our players and was greatly appreciated.
